    As the only accredited landscape architecture program in Chicagoand among only the few in large North American citiesour students confront the complex socio-environmental challenges of urban landscapes through both research and design.

    The field of labor and employment law has never been more dynamic and challenging. With globalization and digital communications, the increasingly complex and rapidly changing landscape of the workplace requires legal professionals to function well in an interdisciplinary environment and adapt readily.

    Chicago-Kents J.D. Certificate in Labor and Employment Law combines theoretical education and skills training with experiential learning opportunities that offer interaction with leading academics and prominent legal practitioners.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    This program is open only to J.D. students at Chicago-Kent College of Law.

    English Program Requirements

    International students who fit into any of the following categories will be considered to have met the requirement:

    • Residents of a country where English is the only official language and who is a native English speaker
    • Graduates of U.S. high schools
    • Completed the equivalent of Iowa State’s English 150 or 250 with a grade of B or better at an accredited U.S. 2 year or 4 year college or university.

    CONDITIONAL ADMISSION

    If you meet all admission requirements but do not meet our English proficiency requirements, Iowa State offers conditional admission to attend our Intensive English and Orientation Program (IEOP). If you would like to enroll in IEOP, on the application choose "I would like to enroll in Iowa State’s IEOP program before I begin the academic study.”

    Labor and employment lawyers can be found in law firms, labor unions, corporate law departments, state and local governments, employee benefit funds, consulting firms, and a variety of federal and state governmental regulatory agencies, including the EEOC, Department of Labor, National Labor Relations Board, Office of Labor-Management Standards, National Mediation Board, Federal Labor Relations Authority, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
