    About

The Master of Arts in Languages and Cultures of the Ancient Near East encompasses the field commonly known as "Assyrian Studies" or "Ancient Oriental Studies" and integrates the traditional disciplines of Western Asian archaeology, Egypt studies, Semitic studies, studies of the Old Testament, and Indo-Germanic studies. Its context with regard to time, geography, and content is based on cuneiform writing, which was used for a number of genetically and typologically different languages.
