    About

    Health and social care face huge demands in the 21st century with rapidly changing society and technology. Balancing these needs with sustainability requires creative thinking and a culture of innovation. This course will equip leaders with the confidence to instil authentic innovation practice and create culture aligned to strategy.

    You will be introduced to tools and models and their application to support innovation thinking. Achieving empathy and overcoming your own pre-conceptions so that you can see situations through fresh eyes.

    You may have a great idea, but you need to persuade others or justify it to decision makers.The course will look at how to pitch your idea to get if off the starting blocks.Viewing strategic goals as a lens for innovation.

    Successful implementation is key for impactful innovation so the course will explore the challenges to be overcome and how to involve people in achieving success.The course explores aspects of authentic innovation cultures for enabling real innovation impact.

    Online Learning

    You will learn via our online virtual learning environment, CampusMoodle which provides you with lectures and course materials and allows you to study from any location. You will participate in active, group-related learning within a supportive online community setting. You will have access to recorded lectures and opportunities to meet up online via discussion fora and live sessions.

    Activity Summary

    • Approximately 20 participants per group
    • 6 x 3-hour interactive online workshops
    • Work packs with preparatory materials for each workshop

    Assessment

    A written report (3000 words) and a five-minute video pitch.

    Independent Study

    Approximately 10 hours per week directed study with reading list, videos, journal articles, observational exercises and interviews with peer-to-peer learning through discussion forums

    Staff Delivering on this course

    RGU’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Group (EIG) were established to champion and embed entrepreneurial and innovation thinking, tools and techniques across the university. The group have won a number of awards for their work.EIG have partnered with the School of Health Sciences to create this course.The workshops will be facilitated by members of EIG who have also invited a range of guest speakers to join the sessions.

    • Applicants who do not hold an International High School qualification will be expected to undertake a pathway programme at our International College

    English Program Requirements

    Most undergraduate courses require an IELTS score of 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 in each area. Some courses require a higher English language score. Always check the relevant course page and our English Language Requirements page before applying.

    Career

    This 15-credit post graduate course could form the basis of a post graduate certificate, diploma or masters qualification by accumulating the requisite number of credits in accordance with the requirements of RGU’s Professional Studies Framework (PSF).
