MA in Communication (English)

About

The Masters Programme in Communication has been designed to take into account the communication processes needed by society, as well as by todays leading institutions. The programme supports interdisciplinary working and offers core courses in subjects including public relations, advertising, cinema, television, visual media and journalism. The programme is flexible, in so far as it can be tailor-made from a wide range of available courses, to suit the academic or vocational needs of the student. The degree programme is shared between three departments within the Faculty of Communication. Courses are chosen in relation to the students dissertation subject. The programme gives students the opportunity to specialise in both core communication topics and individual professional subjects.

The students, who score a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) 3.00 / 4.00, and successfully complete all the courses (120 ECTS), may start writing their thesis, and the students who successfully accomplish the Master thesis defense are awarded with Master of Arts Degree (MA) in Communication.

Undergraduate diploma (or higher) To be a graduate of any bachelors degree program. GRE: Min. 149 or GMAT: 450 or ALES: Min. 55 Any Type The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Turkish. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original.

English Program Requirements

Students who have applied for Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree programmes provided in English, are obligated to take the Yasar University English Proficiency Test (FLAT). Exam registration is completed during the matriculation process. Direct entry to first year of the program is achieved with a minimum score of 65/100 in this exam. Students achieving below this score will be required to take a year of English preparation before entering the faculty.

Exemption from the English Preparation Year may also be gained by submitting passing scores in one of the following equivalent English Language Tests:
TOEFL IBT
CAE
CPE
PTE

The Yasar University FLAT Examination is not valid for PhD Candidates. Students who are applying to PhD program must submit one of the exams listed above.

According to the legislation accepted by the State Higher Education Council of Turkish Republic, IELTS is not accepted as a valid examination for English language exemption at all educational degrees.
