    Master of Mathematics

    About

    The Master of Mathematics programme at KIT is research-oriented and has a strong focus on in-depth studies in a wide range of pure and applied mathematics subjects. Faculty members of the KIT Department of Mathematics are internationally recognised experts in algebra, analysis, discrete mathematics, geometry, number theory, numerical and applied mathematics, probability theory and statistics, theory of differential equations, and theory of scientific computing. Students studying in the Master of Mathematics programme at KIT benefit from a flexible course composition in both pure and applied mathematics. A required Master's thesis allows for students to immerse into real research and deeply learn one of the selected topics. Research and student seminars expose students to a wide range of topics, train them to critically read recent publications and present the material to the public.

    Entry Requirements

    Qualification for university entrance (e.g., Abitur, high school diploma, national test for university entrance, etc.) Academic admission requirements include a Bachelor's degree in mathematics or a related subject such as computer science or physics. The Bachelor's degree has to be completed with a minimum of 180 ECTS points or within a regular period of study of at least three years. If the Bachelor's degree has not yet been conferred by the closing date for applications, but will be completed before the registration, applying with a preliminary transcript of records is possible. Sound knowledge of mathematics including but not limited to abstract and linear algebra, analysis, functional analysis, probability theory, and numerical methods
