About
The Master of Science (Mathematics) consists of two years of full-time study. Students entering with a bachelor degree in the same discipline will be eligible to apply to follow a 54-unit pathway. The course has flexibility to allow you to choose topics that both complement and extend your undergraduate studies. It offers studies in all areas of the mathematical sciences, with an emphasis on modern applied mathematics. You can select studies in areas such as algebra, methods of applied mathematics, complex analysis, partial differential equations, statistical science, stochastic processes and standards, ethics and compliance. The masters project is normally taken in the final two semesters and helps you develop research, communication and technical skills. An in-depth investigation of a particular area is completed under the guidance of a supervisor.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must normally hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification or hold a the Graduate Certificate in Leadership in Education or closely related qualification. In addition, applicants must also have no less than two years’ work experience in an organisation.
English Program Requirements
If you don’t meet our English language entry requirements and need to improve your English language proficiency, you can do so through our approved English Language Instruction Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) providers. This means that you can attend the required English language tuition at approved ELICOS providers and gain direct entry into university without an IELTS or TOEFL test.
