About the program and its main topics
The Master of Library and Information Science program is an educational, training and research program that aims to provide advanced knowledge and skills in the field to contribute to providing human resources at a high level of cognitive and applied skills in the fields of information science from organizing information and its sources and managing information source systems and services in addition to the knowledge necessary to employ information and communications technology to provide advanced information and knowledge services to serve the changing needs of information beneficiaries in Jordan and the entire Arab world. The program works to create a knowledge, educational and research environment that enhances the principles and values of initiative, participation, transparency, creativity, respect for the values of work and time, and keeping pace with rapid developments in the meaning of information in line with the mission of the college and the university. The program offers advanced and specialized courses in the fields of organizing information sources and the technical processes necessary to organize them, such as objective analysis and advanced classification. It also offers special topics in the field of scientific research and its procedures. In addition, the program offers advanced topics related to information and communications technology such as building and managing databases, information storage and retrieval systems, information networks, and other important technological topics in the fields and applications of libraries and information centers.
