Media Computer Science is an interdisciplinary area of computer science. It combines design of complex computer and application systems with considerations of design and multimedia representation of information. The programme includes not only specialised knowledge in media related areas of computer science but also basic knowledge in the field of digital media design and application design.
The programme is divided into two study periods. The first year serves as an orientation period during which students have the option of switching to the Computer Science programme (and vice versa).
The programme consists of twenty-three mandatory modules, among them mathematics, algorithms and data structures, programming, software technology, databases and networks, basics of design, etc.
Students are able to select their own specialisation in some of the modules.
