Midwifery - Master of Health Practice

The midwifery courses focus on whānau-centred education that is applied and practice orientated, and encourage midwives to critically analyse and develop midwifery practice and expertise. You can choose to take online courses, so you can complete your study while working.

The Master of Health Practice in Midwifery is ideal for health professionals with at least three years of clinical experience. You can select courses that reflect your career needs and interests.

Minimum entry requirements

Must have completed the following or equivalent:

• Relevant bachelor’s degree
• Relevant graduate diploma
• Relevant professional qualification

AND

• At least three years of relevant professional experience

Staircasing options from the Postgraduate Certificate in Health Science or Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science are also available.

• May be required to complete prerequisite courses in chosen subject area
• May be asked to provide evidence of current professional practice
• May be required to meet Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act (HPCA Act) and Children's Act 2014 requirements and other relevant legislation

• IELTS (Academic) 6.5 overall with no band less than 6.0
