    MSc Sustainability Engineering Leadership

    About

This unique full-time MSc Double Degree between UCD and Northeastern University, where students will spend the 1st year in Northeastern University, USA and their 2nd year in UCD, Ireland, is a comprehensive programme designed to equip graduates with the necessary skills and knowledge to become leaders in engineering sustainability across various sectors. It focuses on engineering design, development and assesment of sustainable technologies and is coupled with the engineering management and leadership skills needed to deploy the technologies in the marketplace. The programme addresses the growing Global demand for sustainability expertise in the labour market.

Sustainability is on the agenda for many engineering sectors. All sectors are responding to sustainability goals, with many organisations setting targets to be achieved by 2030 for compliance, consumer or market retention purposes. Consultation with a range of engineering industry stakeholders has identified a deficit of expertise in the market to address the implementation and leadership of sustainability agendas, however, the scale and speed of the change required is urgent.

The first year of the program is offered in Boston, and the second year in Dublin. Upon graduation, students earn an MSc degree in Sustainability Engineering Leadership from both Northeastern University and University College Dublin. The program prepares graduates for in-demand senior technical sustainability positions in engineering and industrial firms, consultancies, and environmental organisations.
