    This programme will help you deepen your understanding and improve your practice of working with people who have been diagnosed with personality disorders.

    You’ll develop specialised knowledge about the needs of people with personality disorders in a variety of settings, which will help you expand your knowledge and skillset to best support these individuals who are often stigmatised, isolated and rejected by society through the challenges they face every day.

    This programme will help you deepen your understanding and improve your practice of working with people who have been diagnosed with personality disorders.

    You’ll develop specialised knowledge about the needs of people with personality disorders in a variety of settings, which will help you expand your knowledge and skillset to best support these individuals who are often stigmatised, isolated and rejected by society through the challenges they face every day.

  • You’ll extend your knowledge, understanding and skills to support and meet the needs of the challenging experiences faced by those living with personality disorders.
  • You’ll be taught by lecturers with extensive and diverse experience of personality disorders and clinical experts in the School of Forensic Mental Health* (part of the Forensic Mental Health Managed Care Network in Scotland) and the health sector across Scotland.
  • This course is taught mainly online with three face-to-face study days per module taking place at our Lanarkshire Campus.
  • You’ll be taught through a combination of lectures, tutorials and workshops and put the theory you’ve learned into action in your own area of practice.
  • * School of Forensic Mental Health was established in November 2007. Hosted by The Forensic Network, the School is available to colleagues and associates from across Scotland to assist with teaching, training and research needs in forensic mental health.

    Entry Requirements

     Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree pass  For programmes requiring Honours Degree applicants must have achieved the following grades:  Excellent  Good  Very Good

    English Program Requirements

    If you do not fall into any of the categories above you will need to provide proof of your English language ability through the International English Language Test System (IELTS) or the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

    Duo Lingo

    For 2022-23 entry, the University has approved the use of the online Duolingo English test as evidence of English language ability. UWS will accept an overall score between 90-115 with no component score below 90.

    8. Pay the deposit

    You will be required to pay a deposit to secure your place at the university.

    9: Attend a TEG credibility interview

    The purpose of this interview is to assess if students are credible and genuine. At this stage you will need to prepare your CAS documents for review.

    10. Apply for Visa

    International students, including nationals from EEA or Switzerland, would require a student visa to study at UWS London.
