    Prescribing for Healthcare Practitioners

    About

    This course will prepare non-medical health professionals to prescribe within the legislation relevant to their profession. This course is aimed at experienced practitioners who wish to enhance their advanced practice by prescribing according to relevant professional standards.

    • Holistic consultation through analysis of consultation models and assessment tools
    • Pharmacology; pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of drugs
    • Critiquing evidence base practice to inform decision making
    • Non-medical prescribing influences on practice
    • Prescribing within a team context

    Learning Methods

    The module is delivered using a blend of face to face teaching (8 single study days) and online materials including online chat, virtual classroom and discussion forums. In addition, you will engage with directed and self-directed learning activities supported by the module team.

    Assessment

    This course is assessed throughpractice portfolio and exam.

    • Applicants who do not hold an International High School qualification will be expected to undertake a pathway programme at our International College

    English Program Requirements

    Most undergraduate courses require an IELTS score of 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 in each area. Some courses require a higher English language score. Always check the relevant course page and our English Language Requirements page before applying.
