Primary Education (5-11) with Recommendation for Qualified Teacher Status - Physical Education

You'll choose from two training models*:

University-led

School Direct

• Learn on the job in your provider school(s)
• Supported by experienced teachers and mentors
• Underpin your practical learning with university study

As part of this course, you'll:

• Train to be a primary school teacher with a specialism in physical education, teaching children aged five to 11
• Study all primary stage national curriculum subjects, with a focus on English, mathematics, science and PE
• Explore established educational theories alongside new ideas, concepts and developments
• Learn to promote, shape and develop the teaching of PE within a primary school setting

*Both routes lead to a PGCE with 60 master's credits on successful completion. There will be three assignments across the year, each leading to 20 master's level credits.
