The purpose of the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Project, Program and Portfolio Management is to provide prospective students with the knowledge and competencies necessary to manage projects, programs and portfolios. The program will provide managers the wherewithal to develop professionally and further their careers within a broad range of industries.

The program will be offered through a unique educational experience that is a blend of theory and practice. The primary objective is to provide students with both a conceptual and pragmatic understanding of general and specialized project, program and portfolio management areas that are applicable across industries and fields. This program has been designed by benchmarking the content and courses against industry credentialing offerings so that graduates of the program can proceed to professional certification based on the knowledge gained in the program. Students have the opportunity to complete courses in a combination of face-to-face, online and blended formats.

Graduates of the program will be employed in areas with job titles such as project manager, program manager, cost estimator, among others.

Learning Objective 1

Compare and contrast key subject domains of project, program and portfolio management. (Bloom's Level 4 – Analyze)
Courses assessed: Intro to Project Management (EBTM 604); Program and Portfolio Management (EBTM 750).

Learning Objective 2

Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to evaluate a PPP situation. (Bloom's Level 5 – Evaluate)
Courses assessed: Procurement and Sourcing (EBTM 620).

Learning Objective 3

Compare and contrast methods to evaluate leadership skills and communication plans in a PPP setting. (Bloom's Level 4 – Analyze)
Courses assessed: Project Leadership and Communication (EBTM 625); Program and Portfolio Management (EBTM 750).

Create an integrated project or program plan and portfolio using appropriate software. (Bloom's Level 6 – Creating)

Degree-seeking applicants must submit one official transcript from each college or university they attended. Non-degree applicants must submit one official transcript from the institution where they earned their highest degree.

Official transcripts must be sent by the issuing institution electronically, using a transcript encryption service via email to [email protected], OR by mail, sealed and stamped by the issuing institution to: Towson University, Graduate Admissions, 8000 York Road, Towson, MD 21252.

Transcripts submitted by the student are not considered official.

Pre-degree students must make sure their transcript includes all grades from the first semester of their senior year.

Submit email addresses for letters of recommendation.

Some programs require letters of recommendation as part of the application process. If the program for which you are applying requires letters of recommendation, you must enter the email address of each recommender in order to successfully submit your application. An email will be sent directly to your references asking them to complete an online recommendation.

Additional requirements for international applicants.

International students are required to be enrolled full-time in graduate degree programs at Towson University. Review the list of graduate programs that meet F1/JI requirements. In addition, international applicants may be required to provide proof of English-language proficiency and a course-by-course credential evaluation.

Note: Students who have completed a degree in the U.S. will qualify for English Proficiency without submitting additional test scores.

A $45 non-deferrable, non-refundable fee is required with your application. Students applying with a fee waiver will have the option to choose the type of fee waiver to be used during the payment section of the application.
