The MSc in Sustainable Food Safety Management is a comprehensive, knowledge-intensive programme that provides an in-depth exploration of national and EU regulations ensuring food safety and consumer health. This interdisciplinary course not only offers a thorough understanding of current food safety practices but also critically analyses upcoming changes and challenges in food regulation and food sustainability. By integrating theoretical knowledge with strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, this this programme prepares students to be leaders in ensuring sustainable and safe food practices within a rapidly evolving global landscape.
Successful completion of the course allows participants to advance to the next level in their careers. Offered as both a full-time (TU236) and part-time (TU236P) programme, it is specifically designed to accommodate individuals working in, or aspiring to work in, the food industry. Past graduates have secured regulatory positions, both nationally and within the EU, as Environmental Health Officers, Veterinarians, or Laboratory Analysts in the public sector. In the private sector, our alumni occupy significant roles in technical management across all of Ireland’s major food companies, including producers, processors, caterers, and retailers.
