UC's Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner DNP online program prepares students at the highest level of nursing practice to care for patients 13 and older from wellness to illness, which includes preventative, chronic and acute care with an emphasis on education, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation.
Students learn from doctorally prepared DNP faculty the advanced skills needed to perform physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications and more, all while considering environmental, occupational, social and economic factors that impact patient outcomes.
DNP coursework adds instruction in evidence-based practice, quality improvement, policy advocacy, informatics and systems leadership. Students in the Adult-Gero Primary Care Nurse Practitioner online program complete a final DNP project that demonstrates mastery of the concepts and impacts health care outcomes at a systems or population level.
