FOOD ENGINEERING

Mission

The Department of Food Engineering is to ensure that the intended students acquire the engineering skills to use modern science and technology in the processing, preservation, distribution and marketing of food. To accomplish this objective, it is necessary to understand the basic principles of disciplines including chemistry, physics, economics, engineering microbiology, business, nutrition and public health and this understanding is incorporated to the program curriculum. From the raw material in the food industry to the final product that the consumer can consume, all the theoretical and practical data and methods are in the scope of Food Engineering.

1. Acceptance Letter received from Istanbul Aydin University
2. Turkish translation of High school diploma and transcript
3. Notarization of translated High school diploma and transcript from Notary in Turkey or Turkish Embassy in your country
4. Health Insurance for one year (compulsory – You will make your insurance paperwork in J Block with International Students and Staff Affairs. Insurance Costs between 400,00 to 600,00 TRL)
5. Equivalency Paper (Denklik Belgesi) of High school diploma from Provincial Directorate of Ministry of Education in Istanbul (you will be guided properly on this once you will reach Istanbul Aydin University International Office J - Block)
6. Language Proficiency Certificate
7. Health Insurance for one year (compulsory– You will make your insurance paperwork in J Block with International Students and Staff Affairs.

Having obtained the much needed skills and a comprehensive background regarding the recent developments in food engineering, our graduates who have firm foreign language background and excellent command of computer. They will be able to find competitive jobs in their field both in Turkey and abroad as highly qualified professionals.

4. Photocopy of the relevant pages of your passport
5. 60 % marks (min) in High School
6. For English degree program applicants: TOEFL score -79 points
   (If English is not the first/ official language of the country). 
   (If students do not have TOEFL then he/ she has to qualify English Proficiency Exam, which will be held in IAU. Dates will be mentioned at http://int.aydin.edu.tr)
7. For Turkish degree program applicants: TOMER B1 level required.
8. Dentistry and Medicine applicants: TOMER C1 level required.
