Requirements
Entry Requirements
Students wishing to pursue a Graduate Certificate in Professional Molecular Sciences should have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in biology, biochemistry, cell biology, chemistry, genetics, microbiology or a related field. The Graduate School requires a 3.0 or better cumulative GPA in grades undergraduate work. Applicants with an undergraduate GPA below 3.0 and have significant work experiences in a relevant scientific field may be considered for admission.
Applicants must submit the Graduate School Application for a Graduate Certificate, including a statement of purpose (300 words max) addressing the following questions;
- What is your motivation for earning the graduate certificate?
- What is your assessment of your ability to succeed in graduate courses?
Official transcripts of all previous undergraduate and graduate level coursework will also be required. International students who have not earned a previous degree from a US institution within the last two years must also submit TOEFL scores.
Career
Employers are increasingly looking for multidisciplinary training in future employees, especially employers who are involved in Biotechnology start-ups, where revenue is initially limited. These individuals are looking for employees who have a “T†shaped training – depth of training in science, but with additional training in non science skills (management and/or business), such that employees can cover disparate areas of need.

Complete the Application and Submit Documents
To complete the application and submit it for our review you will need to pay the $70 application fee by credit card or wire transfer. If you have questions about paying this fee please contact us.
If you do not wish to upload documents into the application, or do not have them ready to upload and submit, you may mail or email them to the International Undergraduate Admissions Office when you submit your application.
