    About

    Gain insight into mental health and wellbeing, and develop a skillset that is in high demand

    In today’s contemporary physical and social environment there is an ever-increasing demand to proactively support mental health and wellbeing in the workplace.

    With significant shortages in the mental health workforce in Australia, there is a greater need to look at how mental health and wellbeing can be supported in the work environment at a community level.

    This program offers students the opportunity to develop a foundational understanding of mental health and wellbeing. Graduates will develop skills required to understand and respond to mental health issues and to foster wellbeing in the workplace and the broader community.

    what you will study

    The suite of Workplace Mental Health and Wellbeing programs is unique in providing the ultimate flexibility for students. With the suite including a Graduate Certificate (40 units), Graduate Diploma (80 units), and Masters (120 units), you can choose to complete the number of units that suit you and your organisational needs. With all courses offered online, students also have the flexibility to maintain work/life/study balance.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    Admission to the program will be available for applicants who have

    • An AQF 7 Bachelors Degree (or equivalent); or
    • AQF 6 Associate Degree (or equivalent); or
    • AQF 5 Diploma (or equivalent) + 1-year relevant organisational experience*; or
    • At least 3 years relevant organisational experience*

    To be considered for admission based wholly or partly on professional experience, applicants must be able to demonstrate that their professional experience involves paid employment or volunteer roles related to Human resources, Occupational Health and Safety, Workplace safety, and/or leadership, management, or team supervision.

    English Program Requirements

    Overall minimum: 6.5

    Sub test minimum: 6

    All Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the University's English proficiency requirement. Further information regarding English language proficiency requirements can be found at the English Language Proficiency for Admission Policy here.

    Career

    This program provides basic level competence training in the application of best practice workplace related mental health support.

    Upon completion of this program, graduates may progress within their existing industries, or may take on roles specific to mental health and wellbeing.
