    The Master of Interpreting and Translation Studies combines practical internships with rigorous academic foundations to give you both the conceptual skills and industry experience for a successful career. You’ll be able to articulate and apply knowledge of global best practice, and will be able to implement advanced reading, analytical and communication skills throughout your working life. You’ll also graduate with a thorough understanding of research methodology and the ability to undertake independent research.

    As a Monash graduate, you'll be perfectly placed to gain employment as a freelance, contract or in-house interpreter or translator, or as a project manager in either the private or public sector.

    Entry level 1: 96 points to complete Duration: 2 years full-time, 4 years part-time

    An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) in any discipline including advanced bilingual proficiency* with at least credit (60%) average.

    or

    An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) and an Australian graduate certificate (or equivalent) in any discipline including advanced bilingual proficiency* with at least credit (60%) average in both qualifications.

    Entry level 2: 84 points to complete Duration: 1.75 years full-time, 3.5 years part-time.

    An Australian bachelor honours degree (or equivalent) in a cognate discipline including advanced bilingual proficiency* with at least credit (60%) average.

    *Note: The level of language competence should be the equivalent of at least three years post-VCE study.

    Depending upon your prior qualifications and experience you may be eligible for entry credit which reduces the duration of the program.

    Suzhou

    An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) in English translation or English interpretation.

    For SEU students: An equivalent score in the National Master Unified Entrance Examination will be utilised in place of the required WAM score of an undergraduate degree.
