Modern technological developments have had an important role in changing the media industry and have changed the paths of journalistic and media work, which moved from the real world to the virtual world and modified the traditional media and journalism map that merged with interactive digital media.
As a result, the department of Journalism and Digital Media was established in the first semester of 2020/2021 in order to keep up with the new digital revolution, transformations and developments in the field of media, after digital media became dominant in the media industry. In view of these developments, the Department of Journalism and Digital Media was established in the academic year 2020/2021 to keep pace with technological transformations and developments in the field of media, after digital media became dominant in the media industry, due to the transformation of international newspapers into electronic newspapers and the increase of dependency of radio and television stations on the digitalization.
The Department of Journalism and Digital Media includes within its study plan comprehensive content and skills for the specialization.
This includes a set of general, specialized, and free requirements in accordance with approved international standards, which qualifies students academically and practically through training in laboratories, studios and facilities provided by the university. In addition to training outside the university “Minbar Al Petra" is designed as electronic site to raise the practical skills of students of this department to qualify them to work in the fields of digital media, and television and radio stations to meet the needs of the Jordanian, Arab and international market.
