    About

Background to the program and subject area:
The Master of Science in Chemical Engineering is designed for students with an undergraduate degree in engineering disciplines (Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Process Engineering) who wish to get a graduate degree in chemical engineering. The program consists of 33 credits in chemical engineering including
    · 18 credits of core courses.
    · 6 credits of elective courses.
    · 9 credits of thesis research.
The core courses provide a more comprehensive foundation in chemical engineering principles (Transport phenomena, Thermodynamics, Reaction engineering, Engineering Mathematics, Mass Transfer, Biochemical Engineering and Computer-Aided Design). Furthermore, in the thesis dissertation students select a research advisor and area for specialization. The thesis may involve either theoretical or experimental investigations, or both. It can be of a limited scope but should involve a significant degree of originality.
    Vision statements of the program:
To be recognized for excellence in teaching and research in the field of chemical engineering at the local, regional, and international levels.
    Mission statements of the program:
To advance knowledge, promote research, innovation and educate students within the chemical engineering field to the benefit of society and industry.
    Program Aims:
    1. Establishing a nucleus for basic and applied research, designed to serve the rising technical requirements of the chemical industry in the region.
    2. Forming links with chemical engineering and technical advances and progress taking place in other parts of the world
    3. Graduating chemical engineers with technical orientation, and core cognitive, research and transferable skills that enable them to perform independently and become learners for life in order to contribute to the basic needs and development plans of Jordan and other Arab countries.
