قسم المناهج والتدريس منذ ان أنشئت هذه البرامج في كلية العلوم التربوية في عام 1977. وقد كان لهذا البرنامج حضور متميز في مسيرة الكلية والجامعة على مستوى التدريس والبحث وخدمة المجتمع المحلي والعربي. وقد ساهم في تكوين قيادات تربوية في التعليم العام ولتعليم العالي. وما زال عطاؤه أخذا في الازدياد من خلال الخدمات التي يقدمها في مجالات البحث والاستشارات في اعداد وتدريب وتأهيل المعلمين وفي تطوير مناهج اللغة الانجليزية وتحسين عمليات التعليم والتعلم فيها.

Program objectives
1. Preparing teachers and educational leaders in English language teaching curricula and teaching methods capable of performing their roles with high efficiency.
2. Transferring scientific research in the program to the world to keep pace with modern developments in preparing, training and qualifying teachers and supervisors in English language teaching curricula and methods.
3.Expanding the opening of new academic programs at the doctoral level that respond to the needs of the local, Arab and Islamic community.
4. Strengthening partnership with educational institutions and departments that have similar programs to the program locally, Arab and internationally.
