The Master's program in Psychological and Educational Counseling was established with the beginning of the establishment of the Counseling and Special Education Department in 1985/1986. The program's study plan consists of 33 credit hours divided into (21) hours of compulsory subjects and (12) hours of elective subjects in the case of the comprehensive track. As for the thesis, the compulsory subjects are divided into (18) hours, and the elective subjects are distributed into (6) elective hours and (9) hours for the university thesis. The study materials are distributed between compulsory and elective and (200) hours of field training fall under supervision From the teacher, and the main topics of the program are based on: materials related to basic skills in counseling, as well as research design and methods, and counseling people with special needs and their families.
This program explains through its courses the types of counseling: group counseling, vocational counseling, and also deals with courses on counseling theories, counseling methods, personality and adaptation. At the end of the specialization courses, the student is expected to complete field training in counseling in the final semester of graduation.
