    Study a combined Masters program and get the skills to become CFO

    This combined program allows you to undertake studies in general business disciplines to complement your Master in Applied Finance qualification.

    This program will give you the technical knowledge and skills needed to succeed in finance management roles through experiential learning.

    Flexible study options are available to help you study at a pace that suits you. You may also be able to gain credit for your work experience to fast-track completion of your studies.

    Our program is part of the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program, and is based at in the heart of Newcastle's central business district. NUspace is home to facilities such as our Greater Bank Finance Lab to expose you to technologies used in the field.

    Combine this with a range of analytic, strategic, and leadership skills through concurrent study of the MBA. Study fundamental business areas such as accounting, operations, and marketing, for a comprehensive understanding of business finance.

    This program focuses on developing skills relating to the operation of financial markets, financial risk management, and corporate treasury strategies.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    Entry into the Master of Business Administration/Master of Applied Finance will be available for applicants who have:

    • Bachelor (Honours) Degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification; or
    • Bachelor Degree, or an equivalent qualification, in a related field such as accounting, business, commerce, economics, finance, human resource management, industrial relations, management, marketing; or
    • Bachelor Degree, or an equivalent qualification, not in a related field and 1 year relevant organisational experience; or
    • At least 7 years' relevant organisational experience, including 2 years in a management position; or
    • Successful completion of 75% (30 units) of one of the following University of Newcastle programs:
      • Graduate Certificate in Business Administration
      • Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance
      • Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management
      • Graduate Certificate in Marketing
      • Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting

    Relevant organisational experience should be documented in a detailed CV and a Statement of Service from your employer confirming your role, duties, and period of employment.

    Sub test minimum: 6
