Masters In Mathematics

The program began in 1972, and was the first master's program in mathematics in Jordan, and the student has to finish 33 hours in one of two tracks:

Thesis track:

- 15 hours Compulsory courses.

- 9 hours optional courses

- 9 credit hours in the preparation of a thesis

Non-thesis track:

- 24 hours Compulsory courses

- 9 hours optional courses

- Pass the comprehensive exam

The courses include abstract algebra, mathematical statistics, analysis, topology and applied mathematics

Program Aims:

1. Students should develop effective critical thinking for students, providing them with a high ability to abstract and providing them with knowledge and skills in pure and applied mathematics.

2. Students should develop students' skills for effective communication.

3. Students should combine applications, theory and problem solving.

4. Students should be able to use technological tools to solve mathematical problems.

5. Students should be able to secure a career as teachers of mathematics in universities and higher institutes.

6. Students should be able to complete their doctoral studies in mathematics.​

Unemployment among male math graduates is 4.6%, while for females it is 23.6% , according to the National Center for Human Resources Development.

According to the Civil Service Bureau for 2022, the specialization of mathematics from the disciplines required for males, while it was not mentioned within the specialties saturated or stagnant for females.
