About the program and its main topics
The PhD program in Educational Psychology/Learning and Development was established with the establishment of the Department of Educational Psychology in the academic year 1987/1988, The program's study plan consists of (54) credit hours for both the thesis and comprehensive exam tracks, and the program's compulsory and optional study materials are distributed in three cognitive fields as follows:First: Psychological and educational measurement and evaluation, which includes the following materials: Theory of test development, measurement of values, tendencies and attitudes, classroom assessment, assessment of child development, personality measurement, individual assessment methods.
Second: Research methods and statistical techniques, including the following subjects: Research design and methods, analytical statistics, computer uses in data analysis.
Third: Educational psychology (growth, learning, childhood) including the following subjects: growth theories and their applications, educational psychology, learning and teaching theories, childhood psychology, teaching thinking.

1. Providing research cadres in Jordanian universities and research centers to carry out research in the fields of growth and learning.

3. Providing universities with specialized teachers in the field of growth and learning.
4.Training students on skills to achieve learning and growth to deal with children and qualifying parents in the skills necessary for parenthood.
5. Developing learning and teaching skills among workers in the field of education to raise the level of students' learning in the classroom.
6. Raising the services that can be provided to help students in the field of talent and excellence to exploit the maximum potential for learning and growth.
7. Providing students with skills to improve child care services and prepare the environment Appropriate for his growth and advancement to reach the appropriate level.
8. Providing tools to detect learning characteristics and readiness for growth and identifying students’ energies in growth and learning to exploit them to achieve the goals of growth and sound learning.

Developing research and investigation skills for authentic topics and issues in measurement and evaluation that contribute to scientific progress and proposing solutions to theoretical and practical issues and problems.

Training students on: building and testing psychological and educational measurement and evaluation tools, building their own standards, standardizing foreign psychological and educational measurement and evaluation tools for the Jordanian environment, and choosing appropriate psychological and educational measurement and evaluation tools, applying them, interpreting their results, and writing reports on them.
