Statistics is motivated by the need to extract information from data, quantify uncertainty, and make predictions about random phenomena. Sophisticated mathematical and probabilistic techniques and computational tools are needed to carry out this work effectively. Core areas of expertise within the field include Bayesian inference, biostatistics, computational statistics, high-dimensional data modeling, multivariate analysis, and survival analysis.
The BSc. Statistics Minor program provides you with fundamental knowledge of statistical models, methods, and procedures, and trains you to collect, analyze and interpret data. These skills can complement knowledge acquired from other disciplines.
