    About

Start at UNCW. Finish at NC State.

Complete the first two years of an undergraduate engineering degree at UNCW and then apply to transfer to NC State University in Raleigh, NC to complete your degree there in one of 16 engineering areas of study.

    Why 2+2?

You will receive targeted, one-on-one academic advising from the program director, as well as expert instruction from UNCW faculty members in courses required for transfer admission. Supplemental guidance and consultations are provided by engineering faculty members and staff at NC State.

You also have the option to take select engineering courses directly from NC State's faculty through our state of the art videoconferencing classrooms.

UNCW boasts smaller class sizes and offers a more economical way to start an engineering degree. As a 2+2 student, you will participate in NC State classes and activities while stationed on UNCW's beautiful coastal campus.

Learn about the profession through an activity-based introduction to the engineering degrees offered at NC State.

Explore engineering ethics, professionalism, problem solving, data collection and presentation, communication, teamwork and design.

Work in a team to create a design project and present your designs to local engineering professionals.
