    Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours)

    About

The Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) at CQUniversity is a four-year course designed to develop your skills and enable you to practise as a Physiotherapist.

Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession concerned with human function and movement. Physiotherapists use a range of methods in their work including exercise, manual techniques, education and advice.

You will develop the skills to become confident in assessing, treating and managing a range of conditions for people of all ages. In addition, your education and training will focus on ways to prevent injuries and promote health and well being- skills that are highly valued within the industry.

The course includes a large practical component through both university-based units and clinical education placements in a range of settings. This allows you to put your learning into practice, gain real-life work experience and graduate work-ready.

    Your career options

The Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) offers a high-quality and up-to-date education in the field of physiotherapy and is accredited by the Australian Physiotherapy Council (APC). On successful completion, you will be eligible for registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia, qualifying you to practise as a physiotherapist in a variety of healthcare settings such as hospitals, community health centres, private practice, schools and with sporting teams.

You will be prepared for a wide scope of physiotherapy roles from working with patients with cardiorespiratory, or neurological concerns to those with musculoskeletal concerns.

    Real-world opportunities

Your studies take place in purpose-built physiotherapy labs that prepare you with the skills and knowledge required to participate in a range of work placement environments.

The Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) involves extensive professional practice experiences where you will gain practical and relevant experience and opportunities to apply your discipline knowledge and skills to real clients. During your third and fourth years of study, you will complete five clinical placements, each of five weeks duration.

While every endeavour is made for your professional practice experiences to be close to home, you may be required to travel to another location to complete your professional practice and this will be at your own expense.
