About the program and its main topics
The PhD program in Educational Psychology/Measurement and Evaluation was established with the establishment of the Department of Educational Psychology in the academic year 1987/1988.The program's study plan consists of (54) credit hours, and the compulsory study materials (21), elective (15), and the thesis (18) hours for the program are distributed over three cognitive fields as follows:First: Scientific research: This includes the following materials: Qualitative research methods (1); and Qualitative research methods (2).Second: Statistics: This includes: Correlational statistical methods; Analysis of variance for multiple dependent variables; Structural equation models in education; nonparametric statistics.Third: Measurement: It includes the following subjects: Item response theory; Issues in measurement and evaluation; Scale grading; Uses of computers in measurement.Evaluation: It includes: Mental evaluation; Program evaluation in education; Measurement and evaluation from a cognitive perspective.Fourth: Psychology of development and learning; It includes the following subjects: Models and strategies of learning and teaching; Learning and knowledge; Psychology of adolescence; Thinking and learning in social contexts.

A distinguished program locally, regionally and internationally for a doctorate in psychological and educational measurement and evaluation. It keeps pace with cognitive progress and contributes effectively to the production of knowledge and its applications to serve society and the world.

Preparing researchers and specialists who seek in-depth and specialized knowledge that qualifies them to contribute to increasing the effectiveness of the measurement and evaluation process in educational institutions at all levels. And providing the community with qualified specialized researchers capable of planning, implementation and evaluation
Program Objectives
1. Providing research cadres in Jordanian universities and research centers to carry out research in the fields of growth and learning.
2. Qualifying students and enabling them with knowledge and skills and keeping pace with scientific and technological development in psychological and educational measurement and evaluation, and developing research and investigation skills for authentic topics and issues in measurement and evaluation that contribute to scientific progress and proposing solutions to theoretical and practical issues and problems.
3. Training students on: building psychological and educational measurement and evaluation tools, testing them, building their own standards, standardizing foreign psychological and educational measurement and evaluation tools for the Jordanian environment, choosing appropriate psychological and educational measurement and evaluation tools, applying them, interpreting their results, and writing reports on them, enabling students to employ applications of modern theory in measurement in the educational and psychological field, evaluating educational programs according to different approaches, and working on applications of grading scales according to different approaches, in addition to choosing and employing simple and advanced statistical methods in quantitative research, and addressing methodologies and tools in qualitative research, and how to write qualitative research.
